Seven levels, and what each one asks of a property.
A property holds the highest level whose requirements it meets in full. There is no partial credit and no score to average — a single unmet requirement holds a property at the level below.
The foundation. Staff know what Muslim guests need, and the direction of prayer can be given at the front desk. Every level above this assumes both.
A property that can orient a Muslim guest in its neighbourhood — where to pray, and where to eat.
An uncooked Halal breakfast corner, assured by the hotel, and prayer direction marked in guestrooms on at least one floor. The first level at which the property itself provides for the guest.
Certified Halal provision in the kitchen, a water facility in guestroom toilets on at least one floor, and clear separation of anything non-Halal.
A property a Muslim guest can stay at without planning around it — certified Halal food, prayer rugs, and Ramadan catering on request.
Comprehensively Muslim-friendly. All F&B Halal and certified, prayer rooms for both genders, water facilities throughout, and no non-permissible activities on the property.

Is this my Crescent Rating?
No, and it may not be presented as one. This is an indicative result based only on what you have entered, and nothing here has been verified. A Crescent Rating is issued by CrescentRating after a formal assessment, which may include an audit of the property. This tool cannot award, confirm, or predict that outcome, and a result from it carries no standing with CrescentRating or with anyone you show it to.
How accurate is it?
The scoring is the real thing — your answers are evaluated against the current published CrescentRating Standard using the same function that scores a formal application. What differs is the evidence. An application asks for certificates, photographs and documentation; this asks you. Where your answers and the evidence differ, the evidence decides.
Do I need to give my details to see the result?
No. The level and the list of what is missing are shown immediately, with no account and no email address. Details are only asked for if you want the full report sent to you, or if you choose to contact our team.
What happens to my answers?
Completed assessments are recorded anonymously, so we can see which requirements properties find hardest and put that back into the standard and our guidance. No name, email address, property name or IP address is stored with them — nothing that identifies you or your property. The only exception is if you ask us to send you the report, in which case the details you give us are kept so we can do that and follow up.
Why was I not asked about something my property offers?
The questions adapt. Once a requirement can no longer change your level — because you have already met everything above it, or because another answer set it aside — it is not asked. A property whose food is entirely Halal, for example, is not asked how it separates non-Halal food, because there is none.
Which types of establishment can be assessed?
Hotels today. CrescentRating publishes standards for restaurants, airport terminals and lounges, attractions, and several transport categories, and those will be added here soon.
