Many hotels and restaurants around the world offer Ramadhan buffets to guests during the holy month of fasting. However, several of these premises are known to serve non-halal products and the question arises as to how genuinely Halal their Ramadhan buffets are.

Several Muslim scholars in Malaysia are pressing the need for such premises to obtain Halal certification in order to ensure that food being served comply with Halal rules and regulations. Ramadhan buffet promotions that are not in accordance to Halal standards have resulted in strict legal action being taken against them.
