Both Dalillah and Zuraimi note that traveling has now become easy for Muslim travellers due to the increasing availability of Muslim-friendly facilities such as Halal food and prayer facilities. They recall their personal experiences and how they were pleasantly surprised at how more destinations around the world are now showing more interest in catering to the needs of Muslims.
Esthy Reko Astuti from the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia states that data plays an important role for the ministry and talks about how MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index has helped with Halal-friendly tourism.
Matthew Driver, the Group Executive of Global Products and Solutions for MasterCard in the Asia Pacific Region, states that the Global Muslim Travel Index 2016 is the second in the series of publications that MasterCard has produced in partership with CrescentRating and that it looks at providing insights on the Muslim traveler. He states that the Muslim travel market has now become particularly important for tourism authorities and countries around the world.
Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of CrescentRating and HalalTrip, also states that the MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index has become one of the most important resources for worldwide destinations looking to reach out to the Muslim travel market. He states that over the last year, many destinations have been using the insights provided by the Global Muslim Travel Index to take active steps to target the Muslim travel market.
