The arrival of Ramadan serves as a period of reflection for the global Ummah, emphasizing the importance of sharing one’s sustenance and time. This year, the CrescentRating and HalalTrip teams felt a deep sense of privilege to be able to pause the global work and reconnect with the heart of the local community in Jakarta.
On March 6th, 2026, fifteen members of the organization gathered in the Pasar Minggu neighborhood to facilitate an annual food distribution initiative, embracing the chance to be a small part of someone else’s Ramadan journey.
Strengthening Community Ties in Pasar Minggu
In total, 650 food packs were distributed to individuals throughout the area—from local workers and street vendors to families preparing for their evening meals. This engagement provided a direct connection to the hardworking individuals who define the spirit of the area.
A significant portion of the initiative was dedicated to Rumah Santri Kreatif As-Syifa, a grassroot non-profit organization, where 60 food packs and a financial contribution were delivered to support local work in nurturing the creative and spiritual growth of local youth.
Embodying the Core Value of Ihsan
Central to the identity of CrescentRating is the principle of Ihsan, which dictates a pursuit of excellence and the commitment to doing what is beautiful and right. In this context, Ihsan is manifested through humility and the recognition that the ability to contribute is itself a blessing. The organization maintains that professional excellence is most impactful when it is rooted in gratitude and a commitment to treating others with dignity.
Concluding Reflections
As Ramadan progresses, the commitment to community connection continues to inform the organization’s perspective. It reinforces the belief that even focused contributions, when executed with genuine intent, foster unity and a shared sense of purpose.
CrescentRating remains appreciative of the opportunity to participate in such days of giving and continues to take inspiration from communities that work towards a more compassionate world.
The team at CrescentRating extends its best wishes to all for a meaningful and blessed Ramadan
