What we assess in your business.
Every business is audited against the CrescentRating Standard for Travel Agents and Tour Operators 2026 (CRS-TAG:2026). It rates the business: how it designs, sells and runs Muslim-friendly travel. It does not rate what is inside each package. Halal food, prayer stops, activities and accommodation in a package are rated separately, under a tiered Tour Package rating that is not launched yet.

How is the annual fee worked out?
By plan and by total staff: the whole headcount of the business. Each business pays one annual fee from the rate card on this page: USD 350 to USD 1,050 on Basic and USD 550 to USD 1,700 on Enhanced, depending on its size.
What is the difference between Basic and Enhanced?
Enhanced includes everything in Basic, and adds: Online training for staff (2 staff); 6-months marketing promotions (IG, FB, X, LinkedIn); Onboarding Consultation Call (60-min strategy session).
What does renewal cost?
Renewals are priced 15% below the rate card.
Is there more than one level, as for hotels?
No. Hotels are rated on a scale; a travel agent or tour operator either holds the Crescent Rated Tour Operator designation or does not. Doing more of the recommended criteria earns no higher level.
Do you visit our office?
No. The audit is a remote video audit. The business, its documents and its people are what is assessed, so there is no premises visit.
How many of our staff take the assessment?
More of them as the business grows, because nearly everyone at a tour operator deals directly with clients. By total staff: 1 to 4, 1 assessed; 5 to 10, 2 assessed; 11 to 20, 4 assessed; 21 to 30, 6 assessed; 31 to 40, 8 assessed; 41 to 50, 10 assessed; 51 and above, 12 assessed.
Can we apply online?
Not yet. Tell the rating team about the business through the contact form, and they will open the application with you.
Disclaimer. The scope of our evaluation is strictly limited to how the business designs, sells and runs Muslim-friendly travel, against the criteria of CRS-TAG:2026. Our assessment does not extend to, nor should it be interpreted as, an endorsement or approval of the business's broader perspectives or philosophies.
